Remember Me

Okay, to begin this post I should probably say that the only reason I even watched this movie is because Robert Pattinson is in it. As much as I hate to admit it, I am crazy about the Twilight series. I sat down with my mom on a lazy Sunday afternoon and begged her to watch this movie with me. I had no idea what it was about and neither did she, which is actually the best way to begin watching this movie. The opening scene of the movie is a little girl, standing with her mother, waiting on a subway. To make a long beginning short, her mother is robbed and then shot so that she won’t be able to identify the robber. The little girl’s father is the cop on the scene, which makes the whole thing even more difficult to take in. Like in every good movie, it switches over to many years after the incident in New York City. Bad boy Robert Pattinson is undecided about… well, pretty much everything. His father is the complete opposite of course; suit wearing, hair-gelled, successful businessman. Robert’s parents are divorced and his older brother committed suicide many years ago, the only thing holding him to the ground is his precious little sister and his best friend. Robert’s character gets into a little bit of trouble with the law later in the movie; the main cop on the job is the little girl’s father. Robert later finds out that the cop has a beautiful daughter, so he begins to pursue her to get back at the cop. Completely unexpected, Robert falls for the cops daughter and she becomes the thing that he is absolutely positive about for the first time in his life. Of course, she later finds out about his original plan and becomes angry at him. If you’re interested in watching this movie, I should probably tell you to stop reading this blog right now. No, really; stop reading right now. For those of you who aren't interested in watching it, I’ll continue. Obviously the couple gets over their situation and get back together. Everything is finally going right in Robert’s life; he’s even getting along with his dad. It’s the morning after him and the girl get back together and he decides to go visit his dad at work, just for a talk. The camera shows him walking into his dad’s office and sitting in his desk, his dad wasn't there yet. It then switches over to his little sister sitting in her desk at school; her teacher begins to write the date on the board: September 11, 2001. The camera then goes to Robert’s face and it zooms out to reveal that his dad’s office is in one of the twin towers. The screen goes black for no longer than 2 seconds. Then it comes back and you see cop cars, fire trucks, news casters, and last but not least; the reaction of each of Robert’s family and friends. Just like that, your heart is ripped out of your chest and the movie is over. Although I cried like a baby for about 30 minutes after the movie ended, it still is one of my favorite movies. I know that I ruined the ending for those of you who haven’t seen it, but I highly recommend that you watch it. Thanks for reading!
