"Tale as old as time, true as it can be. Barely even friends, then somebody bends, unexpectedly."
Beauty and the Beast is the absolute best love story ever shown in theatres. This movie recently came back into theatres on January 13th and because it's one of my favorites I just had to write this blog about it. The movie starts out by giving you a bit of background information so that you know why the beast and his servants are cursed. That reason is because of the beast selfish heart, to break the spell he must love someone and have them love him in return.
Belle is a small town girl living with her crazy father. Her father is the town joke because of his inventions, but Belle is known as the most beautiful, yet strangest girl around. Gaston is the most popular guy in town because of his good looks and hunting ability. He believes that Belle is supposed to be with him. After being denied by Belle he becomes angry.
Belles’ father was going to take his invention to a fair and lost his horse. He came to the Beasts’ castle and the Beast locked him up. Belle later came looking for her father and exchanged her captivity for her father’s freedom. Belle hated the Beast for a few days for what he had done and for who he was. She left the castle one night and the Beast saved her from wolfs. Belle began to get to know the Beast and started to enjoy her time spent in the castle with the Beast and his servants. When the Beast finally allows her to see her father she realizes that he is very sick, so the Beast releases her. When she gets back into the little town she showed the townspeople the beast so that they would not think that her father was insane. The townspeople attacked the castle and Gaston goes after the Beast. The Beast doesn’t even fight back until he sees Belle. Gaston ends up stabbing the Beast in the side so the Beast drops him from the top of the castle. As the Beast is taking his last breath, Belle tells him that she loves him. He then transforms back into a human and they live happily ever after.
This movie shows us that we shouldn’t judge a person by their outward appearance; instead we should judge them by the sincerity and kindness in their heart. Belle found her true love by looking past the Beasts’ hair and fangs. The Beast learned to care for someone other than himself, which is also one of the greatest lessons anyone could learn.
I really, really want to see this movie. I know, crazy I'm 17 & have never seen Beauty & the Beast, but your description of it makes it sound so good. Who doesn't love a good Disney love story? I know I do! The message you wrapped up with in the end is so true and hard to remember sometimes. I have to remember a lot to not judge a book by it's cover. If I did, then I wouldn't know half the people I know today! Let's watch it together sometime!
ReplyDeleteBest memory ever as a little girl! All of the Disney movies and this one, rewind! This has a lot of lessons in it. You can’t judge a book by its cover so many people forget this message and miss out on a lot of things. People care too much on what is on the outside and forget about what is on the inside of one.
ReplyDeleteThis movie is always on my list of disney movies to watch on rainy days. The characters are adorable, and the message is one of the best that needs to be taught to younger kids. Do not just look at appearance the heart is where all the meaning is at. Love this movie and it will always be a favorite of mine!
ReplyDeleteHaha I am so happy to see you wrote about Beauty and the Beast! My three year old nice always wants to watch this movie and when I watch it she warns me before every part that happens! She is crazy and got me into watching more Disney movies that I haven't seen since I was like 8. These kind of movies never get too young for older people!! :)
